3D Film Festival
September 20-22, 2012
Nokia Live
The 3D Film Festival is first and foremost a celebration of the 3D filmmakers and content creators from around the world, who are deserving of both recognition and praise amongst their friends, fans and peers.
In our estimation, there is no modern-day medium as visually stimulating, cinematically challenging and emotionally rewarding as 3D. That’s why 3DFF has grown into North America’s most preeminent 3D festival, attended by thousands of filmmakers, fans, 3D technology companies, equipment manufacturers, video game designers and many others dedicated to perpetuating the art and science of 3D.
Featuring a diverse collection of both studio and independent films, the 3D Film Festival takes place in Los Angeles, California every September (in 2012, it runs from September 20-22). There are also numerous smaller events throughout the world, including a touring festival across four continents, 3D educational events, and much, much more.

Baroque Music Festival-Corona del Mar
June 17–24, 2012
When you come to the Festival, please enjoy our lovely venues and linger after the concerts to meet our performers and to socialize with each other over wines and waters.
We strive for historically stylistic interpretations of the great masterpieces of the Baroque period — and a few later neo-Baroque works — and are blessed by singers and instrumentalists who are informed and sensitive to that style, the latter playing period instruments that are either antique or modern reproductions. Thus you will hear music by Baroque composers much as it was heard in their time.

Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine FestivalJune 1-3, 2012
The Lake Skinner, 37701 Warren Rd., Winchester, CA 92596 The Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival, then known as the Rancho California Balloon and Wine Festival, was started in 1983 by Walt Darren, a commercial airline pilot and avid balloonist and by Evelyn Harker a veteran event organizer and fund raiser. Evelyn immediately suggested it might "fly" even better if it involved some of the area’s other natural attractions such as wine tasting, culinary presentations and entertainment. With an enormous task ahead, the assistance of two other community-minded individuals, Sherry Prysock and Mike Flaherty was enlisted and Evelyn became the first event chair person. The seed money was provided by Kaiser Development Company and sponsors came from the local community giving what they could with many contributions consisting of in-kind services and products. At this time, there were only six wineries in the region. The first Balloon and Wine Festival was launched in the Spring of 1984 and was a monumental success for a town of only 9,000 residents. More than 4,000 people were in attendance that year as 35 balloons were launched from the Rancho California Plaza area off Ynez Road (now Tower Plaza). The balloons flew over the serene pastures surrounding the area and the wine tasting was held in the parking lot of the current Tower Plaza. For more info: http://www.tvbwf.com/ |

Spring Festival of LX's
Saturday, March 24, 2012
9:00 am to 5:00 pm
The Spring Festival of Lx's has its roots in Southern California as an enthusiast gathering for the hottest car platform to hit the American car market in years. Starting in 2004 (for 2005 model years), LX first referred to the new generation vehicle platform for the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum. For the 2006 model year, the Dodge Charger was added. We now use the Lx designation to generically refer to first generation LX as well as now encompassing the next generation platforms for LX (Chrysler 300), LC (Dodge Challenger) and LD (Dodge Charger).
As a group of SoCal car enthusiasts, our first meet in 2004 consisted of only 4 vehicles. Our next few meets in 2005 quickly grew to approach 100 vehicles. Starting in 2006, we kicked it up a notch and surpassed 300 vehicles with participants from all over the US and Canada. This event has grown every year since and we now expect over 1000 vehicles for the 2012 Spring Festival. As a community and enthusiast event, we have the tremendous support of Chrysler, Dodge, Mopar and SRT. We have had many executives in attendance from both the local Irvine office as well as Auburn Hills. The Spring Festival is becoming one of their favorite events as well!
As participants at this event, you share the passion we have for these cars. Through the various online forums, we post photos of our cars, our mods and ask questions. The Spring Festival is the place where you will see it all first hand and talk directly to other members that you have become friends with online. You may be a senior member or a newbie, have a full blown modified car or a totally stock car, it makes no difference. If it will be your first event you will not believe how great the people are. This is an experience of a lifetime and those who return year after year will tell you so.

Angel Stadium- OC Foodie FestAugust 28, 2011
OC Foodie Fest was the first and biggest gourmet food truck festival in Orange County. Launched on August 28, 2010, at the Honda Center of Anaheim. With over 8,500 foodies in attendance, the sold-out event showcased 49 gourmet food trucks, six local bands, dance crews, indie vendors, art and charities. This year the event has moved across the street to Angels Stadium and with an expanded food line up of 150 vendors, more entertainment, more competitions, and more games you can expect more yummies for your tummies! The Foodie Fest in itself is meant to celebrate the gourmet food movement that has been on the rise in Southern California. These mobile eateries offer a wide variety of culinary creations and a unique spin on culinary fusion, while providing an affordable and easily accessible dining experience. The movement has developed a passionate foodie following through the clever use of Twitter. We want to spotlight these trucks while adding elements that are unique to each community.

Long Beach-Funk Fest
August 20, 2011--Long Beach is indeed a special place, and there have been many funky things going on here over the years, and there had yet to be a 100% funk festival in the LBC, until WE put on the first LB Funk Fest in the summer of 2009. The Long Beach Funk Fest has manifested to bring an event of uncut funk magnitude to Long Beach.
This is not a jazz funk fest. This is not a hip hop funk fest. This is not an old skool show. It’s not a rock festival with a few funky bands. This is all funk and nuttin but the funk. This is a festival to bring together funk fans old and new, to show where funk came from and where it’s going.
Our goal is to bring the funk music community together (musicians and fans) and invoke the spirit of the great 70′s funk fests, and to help nurture and develop funk’s acceptance and acknowledgment as a complete North American musical genre. Much in the way jazz and blues are considered “American art forms”, funk is American music too, our music, and has influenced countless other genres, musicians, and people around the world…
The Long Beach Funk Fest is a green-driven festival, involving green sponsors and educating in ways to live with less impact on our environment. We strive to have the bulk of vendors and partners come from green companies and organizations. The Long Beach Funk Fest also helps to raise funds towards music education in Long Beach. This is a community-based event, involving the community and giving back.
Each year the artist lineup is hand picked to reflect the mission of the LBFF. We also feature many prominent LA area dj’s spinning funk all day/night long between bands and at the dj tent. Visual art is also heavily featured, including many live paintings taking place throughout the festival site. Be on the lookout for possible pre/after parties for the funk fest. We know like the last two years, many funk fans will be coming from out of town and even from other countries, so we want them to have options to make it a full weekend. There are many hotel options within walking distance in the downtown area. There are also several amazing restaurants, shops, and public attractions all within walking distance of the festival site. Long Beach is an amazing place to visit with so much stuff to do.

Renaissance Pleasure Fair
Saturdays & Sundays • 10am - 7pm April 7 – May 20, 2012
Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area
Irwindale, CA • Ph: 626.969.4750
A History...Begun in 1963 in Agoura, near Malibu, to create “living history” for schoolchildren and their families, the Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire has grown into an annual interactive playground and gallery for over 200,000 participants and guests. It has given birth to an industry nationwide and this year is more fun and exciting than ever.
This Southern California Faire has traveled a bit since Agoura. The Glen Helen Pavilion provided two different settings in Devore (in San Bernadino County) where the Faire spent many years. Shortly after the turn of the Century, the Faire moved back to Los Angeles County, to its current home at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, a United States Army Corps of Engineers' Facility and a unit of County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation System in Irwindale, CA. Since its inception, more than 5 million people from around the world have visited Southern California’s Renaissance Pleasure Faire, averaging approximately 20,000 each weekend.

Crawfish Festival.-Long Beach, CA
For over 18 years the Crawfish Festival has become a tradition to over thousands of festival goers annually. The combination of the best Cajun, Zydeco, and New Orleans sounds of music, tons of fresh crawfish prepared Louisiana style and served by authentic Cajun chefs, giant food court, children’s area, dance floor, two stages and beach bars to create the largest Crawfish Festival outside of Louisiana, right here in Southern California.
Long Beach Food Truck FestivalThe food festival capitalizes on the growing Los Angeles trend of unique and gourmet food trucks that are more like five-star restaurants on wheels. In this automobile-centric environment it only makes sense that some of our best food is prepared in trucks, but the trend isn't as popular in Long Beach. So Long Beach is bringing the trend on its own.
The event is called "Truckin' Back To The LBC" and will grow to feature more than 25 of Southern California's best gourmet food trucks, along with a beer garden and live entertainment. |
